In a crucial development which may change the political dynamics in Nagaland keeping in mind the upcoming elections, Nationalist Democractic Progressive Party (NDPP) Chief Minister candidate Neiphiu Rio and BJP national president Amit Shah met in Delhi on 23rd Jan to discuss alliance possibilities between the two parties.
“The party is open to alliances in the interest of the people” read a statement issued by the NDPP.
“The NDPP leadership and all its rank and file assures the people that any strategic decision that is decided will be in the greater interest of the Naga people and the party assures all section that the NDPP will protect the interest and aspiration of the people as enshrined in the NDPP constitution,” it stated.
