KOHIMA: Two persons were detained by Nagaland Police on Friday in a case of fraudulent registration in financial aid extended to citizens of Nagaland stranded outside the state. This was disclosed in the official Twitter handle of Nagaland Police.
On receiving a complaint from Principal Director, school education, the police swung into action and found that two persons presently residing in Kohima had fraudulently registered in he web portal to avail financial aid.
The accused were summoned to cyber crime Police Station and later released on bond.
Nagaland Police has further cautioned the public not to use such means to avail any packages on COVID-19 offered by the Government as such acts were punishable.
It may be mentioned that the Government of Nagaland had announced a a special financial package under which Nagas stranded outside the state can apply and avail financial help by registering at the web portal iamstranded.nagaland.gov.in
