Nagaland Government will be spending Rs 6 crore to pay Rs 2,000 each to over 30,000 registered construction workers in the State who have lost their livelihoods due to the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown.
The money will be transferred to the bank accounts of all building and other construction workers registered under the State Labour Department.
Informing that it will be able to transfer the approved benefit only to those beneficiaries whose bank accounts are active, the State Labour Department appealed all beneficiaries with dormant bank account to immediately activate such account.
The Department of Labour further informed it has worked out all technical details of the registered beneficiaries and transfer of the benefits has started successfully through DBT (direct beneficiary transfer).
