The CSR, Investment & Banking Conclave starting July 4 in Kohima has been postponed as the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has rescheduled her visit to Nagaland due to an ‘unforeseen circumstances,’ an official statement informed.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Union Finance Minister has rescheduled her visit and therefore the State Government has taken the decision to postpone the Conclave. New dates for the Conclave will be informed once the Finance Minister’s fresh schedule is finalised,” added the statement issued by Neiba Kronu, Minister of Planning and Parliamentary Affairs and Nagaland Government Spokesperson.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused on account of this postponement, it said.
Under the theme, “Partnerships for Strengthening Sustainable Development”, the conclave was scheduled to be held from July 4-6.
Among others, the conclave had multiple objectives of bringing in innovation and private capital in meeting developmental challenges of the State and forging long-term partnerships to help in further integrating the State’s economic players with the national value chains, and promoting private industry, the statement said.
The event was planned in close coordination with various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, Invest India and CII, it added.
The Chief Minister had personally invited the Union Finance Minister for the CSR & Investment Conclave at the stage of conceptualisation, and she had consented and guided in planning for the event, it noted, expressing the State Government’s appreciation.
It further acknowledged all the commitments made by the companies and their partners, and the special efforts made by senior officials of the companies and officers of the Government of India to schedule travel to the State for the summit.
“While expressing regret again, it is hoped that the support given, and the commitments made, by the companies will continue and there will be redoubled participation in the rescheduled event,” it added.
