Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) unveiled the the Thar Roxx, five-door variant of its off-roader on August 14. While the starting price for the base petrol variant of the Thar Roxx is Rs 12.99 lakh, the diesel version will be available from Rs 13.99 lakh onwards. Prices for the mid and top-spec variants will be announced on August 15.
The base variant of the Thar Roxx comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 160 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, as well as a 2.0-litre diesel engine delivering 150 bhp and 330 Nm. Both the engine options are paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
“Built on an all-new platform, the Thar Roxx offers a seamless blend of refined ride quality, precise handling, world-class NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and sophisticated driving experience. It offers exemplary on-road performance while staying true to its legendary off-road prowess. The Thar Roxx prioritises safety and security with over 35 standard safety features,” M&M said in a statement.
The Thar Roxx rides on a Penta Link suspension with Watt’s Link and gets a Brake Locking Differential. The base variants get safety features like six airbags and ESC as standard features.
As far as its interiors are concerned, it is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a digital instrument cluster along with a Harman Kardon audio system. Additional elements include a panoramic sunroof and leatherette dashboard and door trims.
