United States reach 10 Lakh Coronavirus cases, 56000 deaths

Cases of the novel coronavirus in the United States have crossed 1 million (10 lakh) with more than 56,000 deaths.

According to Worldometers, as of Monday afternoon, there are 1,000,888 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. According to the same chart, 56,323 people have died from the virus in the U.S. and 137,465 have recovered so far.

The U.S. has a population of about 327,200,000, which means about .30% of the country has been infected.

Of the 1,000,888 infections, New York state accounts for nearly 30% of the cases with 297,224.

The country’s first coronavirus case was reported January 20 in Washington state. On March 26, the U.S. became the country with the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the world when cases topped 82,000, surpassing Italy and China.
