Meghalaya: Efforts on to trace COVID-19 carrier

Two more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya taking the total number of positives to 9 in Meghalaya. This was confirmed by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday.

Both persons are related to the first patient. The CM has confirmed.

Health authorities in Meghalaya have been trying trace the COVID-19 carrier who came in touch with the first patient – the 69 year old doctor who passed away. His Son-in-law has been tested negative three times already.

The authorities have identified 140 primary contacts of the doctor, including those in his family and at the hospital he founded (Bethany Hospital), and about 4,000 secondary contacts, according to sources.

Meanwhile, Conrad Sangma has said hat abut 50,000 PPEs for frontline workers are due to arrive shortly.
