With Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) declaring restriction against Gayatri to execute the four laning of Dimapur-Kohima road, it is likely that the project will be delayed.
NCSU has directed Naga contractors not to cooperate or provide any suggestion to the company till the company finished the special accelerated road development programme (SARDP) project.
The SRDP project amounting to over Rs 1000 Cr was awarded to Maytas & Gayatri (JV) but remain abandoned till date.
NCSU wants Gayatri to complete it first before taking up the 4 laning of Dimapur-Kohima highway.
NCSU officials reportedly met the Chief Minister and briefed him on this. NCSU said despite its repeated appeals and petitions, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) and Union Ministry MoRTH awarded another work order to Gayatri.
NCSU said Gayatri can go on with the new project “at their own risk”.
