Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) legislator Vikho-o Yhoshu today elected as the Speaker of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in a election held in the floor of the Nagaland Assembly.
On the opening day of the Nagaland Assembly Budget Session today the election was held between two nominees of NDPP party candidates Vikho-o Yhoshu and Naga Peoples Front (NPF) Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, who had filed their nomination papers for the post of Speaker.
Pro-tem Speaker Mmhonlumo Kikon asked the members of the House for voting by secret ballots, where Vikho-o Yhoshu was polled by 33 votes against his rival Dr.Imtiwapang, who was polled by 26 votes.
