Nagaland gears up for World music day on June 21

Nagaland will observe World Music Day on June 21 at RCEMPA Jotsoma, Kohima.

This was announced by project director MTF, YRS Nagaland Dr. Hovithal Sothu during a press conference held at Amaris Kapfo building jail colony Kohima on Monday.

Dr. Sothu said that Nagas are music lover and the world music day would be organized in a grand manner to give platform to the local musicians to perform and showcase their talents. MTF Director informed that the conclave would be graced by advisor youth resources and sports, Er. Zale Neikha as special guest, where renowned singer like Nise Meruno and Marmenla Pongen would be performing and discussion on Nagaland ‘s music industry and the bits that greases its gears.

In the next session, there will be a group discussion and consultation with director music academy Kohima Khyochano TCK on music education, music director Sumi Baptist Church Kohima James, Swu on choir, member Rattle & Hum music society, Theja Meru on artist management and proprietor audio garage Atsung Jamir on production.

Open Mic session would be graced by secretary YRS, Lhouchalie Viya NCS as special guest and the concert at 5 p.m. would be graced by advisor rural development, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire as special guest. For the concert, popular artistes of the state line up includes Methaneilie, Trance Effect, Tune Up Channel, Since 90s , The Teaspoon Project, Tetseo Sisters, Atsunglir, Asu Jamir, Abdon Mech, Gabby Pucho, Linthoi, Ronnie, LC Sekhose, Rucks Otto, Moko Koza, Keneisenuo Sorhie, Bozio Nienu, Ayim Longchar, Gear Men Dudes, Music Academy Kohima, Jam Tree, WMD Choir Madnug, Afang & Crew, Kevin Lywait.

Khyochano TCK said the artistes from all the Nagaland would be performing from different journals, age group and mixed up to make the event interesting. She mentioned that there would be music donation drive accepting all music equipments and items which would be given to the less privileged music learners. She informed altogether 17 bands and 16 artistes would be performing on the day. She said one face of the RCEMPA building Art by Project 72 hours would be unveiled on the day.

The day would be managed by Imagination, powered by MTF and sponsored by Audio Garage, Shiu Lights, Metal Gear, Beat Devices, Unitex, Project 72 hours, Nagaland Musicians Collective, KNK Motors, Take One Production, Crescendo and Disong designs.

The press conference was attended by Artist manger Aoakum Walling, MD imagination Elevino Seleyi, musicians and others. Organizer informed that there would be food stall, beverages, merch etc at the spot.
