Minister for Planning & Co-ordination Nagaland, Neiba Kronu paid a visit to new Union minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda on June 19 at New Delhi.
Kronu was stated to have congratulated the new Union minister on his new assignment as minister for Tribal Affairs “to look after the development and welfare of the tribals in the country.”
‘While pointing out the ministry of Tribal Affairs, is doing yeomen services to the tribal community of the country,’ the press release stated, Kronu ‘requested the new minister to continue to support the downtrodden people especially in the Northeast region to come up at par with the rest of the country.’
The press release added: ‘He also emphasised that the Ekalavya model residential schools (EMRS) in the blocks under the tribal inhabited areas are doing well. If it is like the case of Nagaland as all three schools have cent percent (100%) pass results in the class 10 exams in 2019.’
The Nagaland minister was stated to have requested the Union minister to “continue and provide such more schools in all the blocks for quality education to the tribal students.”
The press release added that the Union minister was ‘pleased by the approach and assured of his full support to develop, enhance the capacity of the tribal people, to bring them at par with the rest of the other communities in the country.’
The Planning & Co-ordination department issued a press release to the media on Tuesday informing about the visit.
