Telegraph newspaper today reported that Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya has turned down chief minister T.R. Zeliang-led cabinet’s recommendation for a trial of strength on 20 Jan.
The cabinet has recommended a special session of the Assembly, but Acharya refused to heed to it.
The newspaper further read that Both camps of the NPF are trying to win the support of the governor as well as the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
The team of Rio and chief ministerial candidate G. Kaito Aye’s said there is no ground to summon a special Assembly session for trial of strength as no one has moved a no-confidence motion.
