The state government assured that the recent assaults on Doctors – in Dimapur and Wokha have been looked into with “utmost seriousness”.
It may be mentioned that after the physical assault on the doctor in Wokha, the medical fraternity of the state decided to halt work till the police personnel involved are suitably punished.
On Monday, the state government represented by the Home commissioner and Principal Secretary Health and representatives of the medical faternity reached a compromise after the government assured that “no scope is given for occurrence of such type of incidents in the future”
The Home commissioner Abhijit Sinha, in a letter to the Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch; Indian Medical Association, Nagaland State Branch and Nagaland AYUSH Doctors Association wrote “the state government appreciates the matured response…of your associations in today’s meeting”.
