TV and radio broadcast for students in Nagaland

All India Radio, Kohima will be broadcasting the School Education Department audio classes for students in Nagaland starting from May 2. The classes will cover important subjects under Nagaland Board of School Education.

AIR, Kohima will broadcast three-hour class everyday from 10:10 A.M. to 11:55 A.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 7: 10 P.M. The first week of audio class is scheduled for class 9 and 10.

The video classes also began this evening at Doordarshan Kendra, Kohima.

As per the lessons schedule for Class IX and X released by the Directorate for the first week of May, the telecast timing for Class IX students will be from 3 PM to 4:10 PM, with two subjects daily from May 1-7.

For Class X, the timings are 4:11 PM-6PM with three subjects daily from May 1-7.

Schedule for the remaining week will be notified subsequently, the notification informed.

Principal Director of School Education Department Shanavas C said, the virtual classes are conducted to compensate the loss of instructional days caused due to the ongoing Lockdown. He said, the broadcast schedule is made in such a way that only two classes will be having the lessons on a particular day so that children will not group up in large numbers in Schools or Village Council Halls where the broadcast is heard or viewed.

Meanwhile, for students, who do not have the facilities to access radio or television at home, arrangements have been made at a common place like the Village Panchayat Hall, School Auditorium and other with observation of social distancing.

The audio-visual class from AIR and DD, Kohima will reach a total of one lakh three thousand five hundred fifty-four students covering Classes 8 to 10 and Class 12 in the state.
