IMFL bottling plant busted in ‘Dry State’ Nagaland

Security Forces on Wednesday busted a liquor bottling plant in the dry state of Nagaland. According to an Assam Rifles press release, as part of the ongoing crackdown by security forces to prevent illegal activities in Nagaland, the Security Forces busted one bottling plant of IMFL at 7th Mile, Dimapur and seized 107 cases of rum and packaging materials and 98 Burma teak.

Based on specific intelligence regarding presence of illegal contraband items in 7th Mile Model village, Dimapur, security forces and police representatives launched an operation and apprehended one Electo Sumi (360, a resident of 6th Mile, Dimapur.

The apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to Chumukedima police station and Superintendent of Anti Smuggling Customs Prevention Division, Dimapur for further investigation.

Acting on another tip off, the security forces launched an operation at 4th mile Dimapur and apprehended one Atoka Sumi (24) and recovered 12 cases and 5 bottles of rum and whisky, 3 cases and 4 cans of Beer amounting to Rs 1.5 lakhs, besides Rs 48,290 in cash. The apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to Diphupar police station for further investigation.

Security Forces along with police representative also apprehended one Bhawani Singh (28), a resident of Burma Camp, Dimapur and recovered 12 cases of rum and whisky, 10 cases of can Beer amounting to Rs 1,15,800, in addition to two mobiles and Rs 2.7 lakh in cash. The apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to East police station, Dimapur for further investigation.
