Nagaland MLA and advisor Toshi Wungtung passed away in New Delhi today after a brief illness.
Wungtung won the Shamator Chessore Assembly seat in 2018 with NDPP ticket.
Wangtung was Advisor to the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and Village Guard.
He is survived by his wife. He is son of former minister and 4-time MLA Lt. K. Yamakam.
Late Toshi Wungtung was an active personality involved in many initiatives.

- Associated for Ethnic/Native Studies at the University Of Texas, USA.
- UNICEF State Co-ordinator for HIV/AIDS.
- Member Governing Body NEZCC, Government of India.
- General Secretary Eastern Nagaland people’s Organization.
- Member Nagaland State Electricity Board Tribunal.
Many leaders including Nagaland Deputy CM Y. Patton expressed shock and condolences.
