“We’re not millionaires…but give us a chance”: Rising People’s Party

The newly formed Rising People’s Party (RPP) organized a press conference at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur on Saturday. The party revealed their motto “For freedom and Democracy”.

Speaking at the press meet, party president Joel Naga said that political parties have not been able to give change in Nagaland in the last few decades. He said political parties have been using unchristian methods to win elections – muscle power, money power and so on.

Joel said “we will follow Christian principles and give leadership roles to youth and women- they should have a say in the development process. We want to create a new Nagaland – but it is not possible without the support of everyone. We want to create a people’s movement.”

“We are not against political parties or leaders. We are against the system.” Joel Naga stated. “We have to change ourselves first and be transparent – therefore we will declare all our assets in social media.”

“Politics is good if good people are involved. Naga people give us a chance. We are not millionaires or crorepatis, we’re simple people who have a heart for the Naga people. Give us a chance to serve you, to lead you.” Joel appealed.

“We will set-up new candidates who are clean and Godly. We will be new wine in new bottle.” The party president stated. RPP revealed that they will not have any pre-poll alliance with any political party.
