Nagaland Legislative Assembly speaker Sharingain Longkumer made a special visit to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly on Friday, which was the last day of the state Assembly’s budget session.
He was introduced to the House by Biman Banerjee, Speaker of the West Bengal Assembly.
While speaking to India Today TV, Longkumer said, “I was in Kolkata for some personal work. It was not an official visit to Bengal’s assembly. However, I wanted to congratulate the Bengal speaker on being elected for a third consecutive term, hence I came to meet Biman.”
He also stated that it was wonderful to witness the proceedings of the West Bengal Assembly.
“Although the way of functioning was the same, the number of seats was way more than that of Nagaland,” said Sharingain Longkumer.
