With Childline Dimapur’s initiative, the police were able to arrest a 33-year old man from Bank Colony on July 9 for sexually assaulting an 11-year old girl.
According to police, the incident came to light when Childline Dimapur lodged an FIR with the police after they found the minor girl suffering from certain health condition and was hospitalised.
PRO and ADCP Dimapur, Relo T Aye told Nagaland Page that the minor girl had been staying at the accused person’s house for the last 4 years. He said that the house owner had sexually assaulted the girl in the first week of this month. However, when the girl developed some health conditions, she was hospitalised.
When the Childline came to know about the condition of the minor girl on July 8, they pursued the case and lodged an FIR, following which the accused was arrested yesterday.
The girl is currently under the care and protection of Childline Dimapur. (Inputs from Nagaland Page)
