In an unfortunate incident, a dead body of a tourist boy from Assam was found lying at a rest camp above Dzukou Valley located in Nagaland. According to the information provided by the president of SAYO (Southern Angami Youth Organization) Metekhrielie Mejuba and Metevizo Sophie the General Secretary, the deceased person was identified as Bashanta Nath. As per reports, Nath was a resident of the Gogamukh area located in the Dhemaji district of North Assam.
The Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) stated that after gathering all information they came to know about the deceased person that he visited the Dzükou Valley on 16 January along with his four other friends to explore the place. But on the next morning, one of his companions found him dead inside the camp and he immediately fled to Assam instead of informing the concerned authorities about the incident.
The youth organization of Nagaland also informed that the dead body was brought to the Viswema village Junction from Dzukou Valley by police officials along with 30 local people. In the Village junction, a short funeral activity was performed by the locals. After the funeral service, the mortal remain of Bashasta Nath was then handed over to the South Police Station in Kohima for medical investigation and Post-mortem report.
In the details of the Post-mortem report, it was found that the reason for the death of the tourist was a natural cause with no other foul play found associated with the incident. Later on Wednesday 19 January, the dead body was handed over to the family members of the deceased living in Gogamukh, Dhemaji. The youth leaders express their grief over the sudden death of the tourist last week and pay heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.
