Addressing the media in Dimapur on Thursday, Congress media coordinator Mahima Singh said there was stark difference between the claims made by BJP in its manifesto and the ground reality.
Quoting a sentence from the manifesto “in the last 5 years Nagaland has risen to be a shining star in the Northeast because of your faith in the BJP”, Mahima Singh said it was sad to see deputy CM, Y Patton, making such tall claims.
She said that condition of roads, the ground reality of youth deprived of jobs, erratic power supply and empty water taps, tell a different story.
Unlike Kohima and Dimapur, she said other districts were further away from the development that the deputy chief minister was talking about. She said that while Kohima and Dimapur faced irregular power and water supply, many houses in Mokokchung did not even have pipe connections and had to buy water for their consumption on a daily basis.
“NDPP is yet to bring out their manifesto and we are looking forward to it. We are looking forward to more lies and brazenness from this government,” Singh said.
She said BJP made all sorts of claims without providing any data, statistics nor report cards have been shown to the people, yet they were talking about achievements.
