Member of Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, is likely to be elected Speaker of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly unopposed, once again.
Longkumer was the lone candidate who had filed nomination papers for the post on the last date.
An update from DIPR informed that the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat received only one nomination till the last date and time for filing of nomination papers.
Sharingain Longkumer, filed his nomination for the post of Speaker on March 18, and his candidature was proposed by Minister Temjen Imna Along, and seconded by Advisor Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, it said.
No withdrawals were also made till the expiry of the date and time for withdrawals, it added.
