Union minister Rudy to fast forward skill development in Nagaland

Minister of State (independent charge) for Skill development, Entrepreneurship and Parliamentary affairs, Govt of India Rajiv Pratap Rudy today announced that he will sanction construction of Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in districts without ITIs and also announced building a model ITI for Nagaland.

Speaking as chief guest during the function organized by Patkai Christian college Dimapur themed “Skilling youths of Nagaland” Rudy said that his connection with Nagaland goes 10 years back when he was party-in-charge for BJP in Nagaland. Rudy explained about the various initiatives under his ministry and his vision for North East.

The minister noted that besides hospitality, aviation, retail etc Naga youths can also get skilled in Sports, for which his ministry has formed the Sports Sector Skill council.

Speaking as Guest of honour Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang requested the union minister to restart the Skill development Initiative scheme in Nagaland which had benefited hundreds of youths.

Also present were Nagaland parliamentary secretary for Labour and employment Mmhonlumo Kikon. The program was chaired by Commissioner & Secretary, Labour & Employment M. Patton and vote of thanks was given by Director of Employment M Sangtam. (Nagas Connect News)
