Senior minister in Delhi grovernment Satyendar Jain, currently holding portifolios of Health, Home, Power, PWD, Industries, Urban Development & Flood and Irrigation and Water who has tested positive for COVID-19 was put on oxygen support as his condition deteriorated on Friday.
The Office of the Delhi Health Minister said that Jain’s lung infection has worsened after which he was put on continuous oxygen support. An official said Jain has also been diagnosed with pneumonia and his oxygen levels have dipped, after which he was shifted to the intensive care unit or ICU.
In Jain’s absence, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is looking after the affairs of the Health department, which is tasked with the prevention and treatment of coronavirus in the national capital.
Union home minister Amit Shah wished Satyendar Jain a speedy recovery.
