Former Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang today accused the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of luring MLAs of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and accused them of playing ‘poaching games’. He said this while speaking at the emergency meeting of Central Executive Council (CEC) of Naga People’s Front (NPF) here at NPF central office.
Zeliang said the NDPP led government does not care about the welfare of the state “because they are too busy in poaching elected members and party functionaries.”
Zeliang said that the seven rebel MLAs are still within the purview of NPF constitution. He said that in case a floor test takes place in the Assembly, the seven MLAs are bound to vote in favour of NPF. “If they vote against the whip, they will be disqualified and it will attract anti-defection law,” Zeliang said.
NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu meanwhile in his address termed it unfortunate that seven NPF MLAs from ENPO area went against the party in the last election.
