Arch-rivals India and Pakistan meet for another epic clash at Manchester on 16 June. Will the weather play spoilsport?
“The weather will turn warmer and brighter through the weekend with the return of some sunshine, very welcome after what has been a dull and wet week,” a British Met official informed.
“There’ll be some sunny spells on Sunday and it’ll feel warm in the sunshine, with temperatures rising to around 17 or 18 Celsius. A few showers are likely to develop at times though and some of these could be heavy with thunder possible,” he added.
India has an impressive record against Pakistan in big tournaments. Can Pakistan break the jinx this time? Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq said “It’s in Manchester, lots of Pakistani fans there — so I’m really excited about it. It’s a huge pressure game, obviously. Pakistan and India, there’s a lot of mysteries behind that but we want to just focus on our cricket strengths and how we can get better.”
