Chief Minister TR Zeliang has left for Delhi to meet central leaders on the formation of a new ministry, the Telegraph reported.
The Zeliang group has the support of 17 NPF legislators, including the Speaker, eight Congress MLAs, four BJP, one each NCP and JD (U) and seven Independent legislators.
Sources said the Congress is likely to ask for two cabinet berths. The leader of the Congress Legislature Party, Tokheho Yepthomi, and the state Congress president, S.I. Jamir, were most likely to be inducted into the cabinet.
The BJP, which has four MLAs, is also eyeing a cabinet berth. However, state BJP has hinted that if Congress is included it will not be a part of the Government.
Source said Yepthomi had a closed-door meeting with NPF leaders here yesterday.
In the meantime, NPF dissidents who were lodged at Hotel Vivor owned by Rio have again left for Sovima village.
