The main coalition partners of the PDA government in Nagaland – the BJP and NDPP has reportedly called for postponement of the delimitation exercise in Nagaland.
As per the Nagaland Post, the parties first want the final Naga deal to be reached and the next census to be completed.
BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav said based on the recommendations of the party’s State president Temjen Imna Along and chief minister Neiphiu Rio, his party had recommended postponement of the delimitation exercise.
The BJP general secretary exuded confidence that talks would resume once the current situation normalised.
Madhav was in Nagaland to address the virtual rally organised by BJP Nagaland on June 25 in commemoration of 1 Year of Modi 2.0.
