Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang has praised the NDA Government at the Centre for its decision to honour well known freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu on her birth centenary recently.
Describing it as a very big honour for the north east, Zeliang said, “This is not only a great honour done to Rani Gaidinliu, the daughter of the north east, but also an honor to the people of the north east in general and Nagas in particular.”
“I am also grateful to the Government of India for bringing out commemorative coins and stamps on the occasion of her birth centenary and for sanctioning the construction of Rani Gaidinliu Museum-cum-Library at Kohima,” he added.
The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) as well as various Naga organizations have voiced out their displeasure over the attribute on Rani Gaidinliu as their spiritual leader. (ANI/Agencies)
