United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP) has demanded removal of Kiphire deputy commissioner (DC) Ajit Kumar Ranjan within seven days, failing which, it warned of initiating its own course of action and declared that in the event of any eventualities, the organisation should not be held responsible.
In a press release, USLP president T Seopi Sangtam said this was the demand of both the organisation and general public, insisting that the DC should be removed for resetting the working relation between the district administration, civil society organisations (CSOs) and the public.
Sangtam strongly condemned the alleged unethical and ignorant attitude of Ranjan towards USLP general secretary during the Aspirational District Committee meeting held at the DC’s chamber on January 22.
As a committee member, the general secretary was seeking some clarification with regard to implementation of CSR funding under the Aspirational District Programme. However, he alleged that the DC asked general secretary to leave the meeting for reason best known to him.
The USLP president accused the DC of being hell bent on dismantling the healthy relationship that nurtured by his predecessors with the CSOs and stakeholders instead of working in close coordination with them.
Due the style of functioning by the incumbent DC, he said working relationship has been completely derailed between the administration and the CSOs and general public of the district.
