The Kohima bench of Gauhati high court has stressed on regular testing and vaccination of shopkeepers and vegetable vendors to combat the spreading of the virus.
The court said this while hearing a PIL (suo moto) on June 16.
The Court asked the Counsel for State Health & Family Welfare Department to inform the Court as to what steps have been taken regarding this on the next date of hearing.
In the hearing, Senior Additional Advocate General appearing for the State of Nagaland, as well as the Counsel for the H&FW Department, submitted that all the concerns shown by the Court in the order dated 24.05.2021 and the directions given therein have been taken care of by the respondents to the best of their ability. They also assured the Court that mass vaccination is going on colony-wise and village-wise and people are also coming forward to take vaccination. (Inputs from Nagaland Page)
