Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio met his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Friday. Also present in the meeting was Deputy CM Y. Patton and BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kholi.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of political developments in Nagaland – with the opposition NPF party’s offer to join the ruling PDA government. The political development jolted the state BJP. BJP spokesperson Kholi was rushed to Dimapur to take stock of the situation.
The meeting in Guwahati with Assam CM Sarma, also convenor of Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA) – seems to be a consultative discussion on the political developments in Nagaland. However, Sarma, in a tweet mentioned that the meeting was about “development projects”.
